A production order is the execution document for a specific production run of a specific product, at a specific quantity, by a specific date. It passes through a defined status sequence:
D365 manufacturing organisations typically use standard cost as the inventory valuation model for manufactured items. Standard cost is the most transparent model for manufacturing: it separates the expected cost from the actual cost and reports every deviation as a named variance.
