The defining translation
SAP Business One shares a vendor with ECC and S/4HANA but not an architecture, and treating it as small SAP is the first and most expensive mistake. Accounting is company-database-centric, and G/L account determination is driven by account setup, business-partner control accounts, item, item-group and warehouse rules, tax codes, distribution rules and projects. The extension estate — DI API, UI API, UDFs, UDTs, UDOs, formatted searches, Crystal layouts, B1if and third-party add-ons — has no route to X++, and the first honest question in the programme is whether D365 F&O or Business Central is the right target at all.
